Treynor Athletics

Todd Gordon, the Treynor School Athletic Director, was the speaker on October 3.  He presented a variety of statistics about Treynor athletics.  Treynor won the All Sport Championship Award last year for the third time in four years.  Todd believes in a total sports program as part of a total activities program.   Therefore, sports and other activities have to work together on scheduling.

In Treynor, 65%-70% of students participate in athletics.  About 90% participate in some type of school sponsored activities.  The sports activities would not be possible without many volunteers also.

Todd is about the only Athletic Director in the country who uses Twitter, a social networking internet site, to update scores and send text messages to followers.  He has over 100 followers, including his father.

Todd would like to create a Hall of Fame room for the Treynor schools.  That will take several years before it becomes a reality.
