GETTING READY TO CELEBRATE
Jeri Schnepel outlined plans for the 2004 Treynor Days scheduled Saturday June 19 and Sunday June 20. Last year Treynor Days were held in August to celebrate the opening of the new Treynor Community Center and Fire Station. Jeri said the committee decided to return to the June date for Treynor Days activities this year. Another added feature for 2004 is recognition of the centennial year for the city of Treynor. Jeri asked for ideas to express the centennial celebration. So far plans for Treynor Days include a parade with a history theme, band and talent show, kids carnival, bingo, heritage exhibits and games, street dance, car show, antique tractor show, fire works, steak dinner, pancake breakfast, raffle, and community Sunday service. Jeri asked for the Optimist Club to work the bingo again. She also appealed for everyone to get involved in developing the details of Treynor Day activities. Funds raised will be used to pay down remaining debt on the Treynor Community Center building.
