THE EYES AND EARS OF THE SENATOR

Donna Barry is the contact person of Southwest Iowa for Iowa Senator Grassley. With prior experience in the Iowa legislature, Donna has been working for Senator Grassley for the past two and one half years. A Woodbine native, Donna explained she has an office in the Federal Building in Council Bluffs, but she is responsible keeping up on the issues and concerns of citizens in 14 counties of Southwest Iowa. She responds to phone calls, letters, and E-mails asking her for information or assistance from Senator Grassley’s office. Senator Grassley visits each county in Iowa during the year, Donna explained. Last year she drove the Senator a thousand miles throughout the Southwest Iowa area. Donna noted Senator Grassley is the only active farmer in Congress who travels home from Washington as often as possible to help out on the farm.
