Opera Around the World

Danielle Greiner is a recent graduate of Simpson College where she majored in voice and piano with a minor in English.  She related her opera experiences at Simpson, Des Moines Metropolitan Opera and Opera in the Ozarks.  She has appeared in such productions as La Boheme, The Mikado, Cosi Fan Tutti, Dido and Aeneas, The Consul, Prima Donna, and Falstaff.  She recently toured in Scotland, England, Amsterdam, Belgium and France.

Danielle will be enrolling at Louisiana State University this fall and work toward a master’s degree in vocal performance.   She plans to eventually earn a doctorate and perhaps teach at a college or university.  Because of her many performances she has sung in Latin, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, Danielle indicated she thought the recent addition of operatic performances being made available at theaters such as the Star Cinema in Council will increase younger people’s interest in opera.
