IMMIGRATION LAWYERS ARE IN DEMAND
Cynthia Hess of Tulsa, OK grew
up near Treynor and introduced her family and aunt in attendance. Hess left Treynor
to pursue higher education and is now a lawyer and a certified
public accountant working at private practice in Tulsa. Hess explained she takes on work associated
with taxes, small businesses, bankruptcy, estates and probate, and immigration.
Hess has a number of immigration cases and observed that immigration has become
a political football leading to m! ore rules and more work
to assist aliens to become US citizens. She noted there are now three departments
covering different aspects of immigration. The Citizen Immigration Service handles
the administration of becoming a citizen. The Immigration Custom Enforcement is
responsible for law enforcement within the US. The Custom Border Patrol is responsible
for the borders of the US.
Hess said the citizenship process has become more complicated and time consuming,
a bonus for her profession.
