Treynor City Planning

Mayor Chuck Killian was the guest speaker on December 6.  He has been on the City Council or mayor for 24 years.

The signs at the edge of Treynor may be completed this year if the weather is good.  Stephens Ridge is finishing the sewer and water.  Then it can be annexed by the city.  The first phase will include 29 homes and 14 town homes.

The city is working on a ten year plan, which will include a new well.  The city received a $250,000 grant to fund half the cost of the well.

Treynor has a five year contract to film the sewers.  (The filming will not be broadcast on PBS).  The biggest problem is roots in the storm sewers, but other problems can be precisely pinpointed to greatly reduce repair costs.

Treynor has a AAA bond rating.  They have a $100,000 contingency fund.  Therefore the city is very fiscally sound.  The community building is paying for itself ahead of schedule.  The city has four full time employees and one part time.  The County Sheriff is contracted on a part time basis, averaging three hours per day.
