JUNIOR TREYNOR WOMEN ACTIVITIES DESCRIBED

|
Carolyn Umphreys, president of the Junior Treynor Women (JTW) organization, described the variety of activities that their members are involved with throughout the year. Since 1974 this group of women from the Treynor community has worked to support Treynor teachers and school educational programs, youth activities, and community projects. Umphreys explained they do this through volunteer efforts and fund raising events. Some of these activities include teacher appreciation luncheon, senior scholarships, summer library, blood mobile, Bingo at Bethany Lutheran, ISD student sponsor, Easter egg hunt, Thanksgiving baskets, and Santa’s Visit.
One activity jointly sponsored by JTW and the Optimists is the annual Baby Sitting Clinic. Umphreys noted they currently have 34 active members and meet monthly on the first Wednesday of the month at the Community Center. New members are welcome to join.
