NEXT CLUB MEETING
The next meeting of the Optimist
Club of Treynor is planned October 6, 2007, 7:30 a.m. at the
REPORT OF RECENT CLUB MEETING
At our club meeting on 9/29 there
were 19 members and four guests present.
Pres. GARY GUTTAU opened the meeting by leading the pledge. LARRY KRAMER the devotion prayer.
The 50/50 was awarded to CHAD
GUTTAU. The attendance pot was awarded
to STEVE IRVIN, but it could not be collected.
Guests Keith Jones, Greg White and
his son Tristin were introduced. They
accepted a check written for the amount of $850.15 to the Treynor Youth
Wrestling program. They earn this for
their efforts at the Can Kennel last July.
Jones thanked the Optimists for their support and explained they are
working on official club recognition and will be using the funds to develop and
promote youth wrestling in Treynor.
JUDY GUTTAU put a dollar in the
Youth Fund to recognize that LARRY KRAMER was awarded Zone Optimist of the
Quarter. A recognition shared by
Optimists from Underwood and Griswold.
This was presented by Lt. Governor Kristi Kennedy at the recent Zone
meeting attended by Pres. Guttau and Kramer.

recent home football game.
JEFF JORGENSEN announced that over
twenty cub scouts plus parents made short work of the recent can and bottle
sorting at the Can Kennel. GARY
FUNKHOUSER, JOHN SCHMITT, and GARY GUTTAU also assisted. JORGENSEN also announced there are about
eighty cub scouts registered this year, a record number for the pack. They are making plans for a highway cleanup
effort after school in the near future and will need our help.
Sixty youth participated in the
football Punt, Pass, and Kick fun competition after school last Thursday. Special thanks to JOHN KLEIN for stepping up
to organize the event. Also to Junior
Optimists Clayton Long and Christie Fisher plus many parents and Optimist
members for working to efficiently conduct the activity. Twelve tickets offered by the Dreamland Theater
in
LES HARVEY noted the new list of
advertisers on the club Newsletter was finished. Thanks to

dishes,” “I feed the dog,” and “I make my bed.”
